The Beginning of My Eucalyptus Wedding Collection

Every Collection Starts Somewhere

When I started Poppy Fields Studio, I imagined creating thoughtful paper goods that people would treasure long after they had been received. Greeting cards and gift tags were always part of that vision, but so was wedding stationery.

There is something incredibly special about designing pieces that become part of one of life's happiest celebrations. This little place card marks the beginning of that journey.

Finding the Right Style

For my first wedding collection, I wanted to create something timeless and elegant. Rather than following short-lived trends, I chose a soft botanical theme inspired by eucalyptus leaves, delicate watercolour florals and warm gold typography.

My goal was to create stationery that feels refined without being overwhelming, allowing the couple's names to remain the focal point while the botanical artwork quietly frames each piece.

From Canva to Finished Product

Like many of my designs, this collection began life in Canva. I love watching an idea slowly evolve from a blank canvas into something I can hold in my hands.

Choosing the typography, refining the layout and seeing the finished design emerge after printing is one of my favourite parts of the creative process. This time I decided to capture that journey from beginning to end.

This Is Only the Beginning

Although this is just a single place card, it represents the first piece of what I hope will become a complete wedding stationery suite.

My vision is to create a beautifully coordinated collection including Save the Date cards, invitations, RSVP cards, details cards, menus, table numbers, welcome signs and seating plans.

One idea I'm especially excited to explore is a folded invitation folder that opens to reveal the invitation in the centre, with beautifully coordinated RSVP and details cards tucked neatly inside. I'm currently experimenting with different paper engineering ideas to create something that feels luxurious while remaining practical.

Looking Ahead

Every collection starts with a single piece of paper.

This place card may be a small beginning, but it marks the start of what I hope will become one of Poppy Fields Studio's signature collections. I'll be sharing every new piece here in the Journal and on YouTube as the Eucalyptus Collection continues to grow.
